Graston Technique

At On Your Mark NYC we often incorporate Graston Technique Therapy into our treatment and personal training sessions to help reduce pain, enhance the healing process and increase range of motion.

Graston Technique is an evidence-based, instrument-assisted therapy that addresses soft tissue injuries and fascial restrictions. Graston uses specially designed stainless steel instruments with unique treatment edges and angles to deliver an effective manual therapy for releasing muscle tension, breaking up scar tissue and increasing blood flow.

The use of Graston instruments, especially when combined with Active Release, deep tissue massage and corrective exercises, can lead to the restoration of pain-free movement, enhanced performance and injury recovery.

Graston can be beneficial for many types of injuries and pain patterns. We work collaboratively with each client to ensure that each person receives the most appropriate combination of treatments to ensure optimal results. This might include Graston technique because there is a growing body of evidence that supports its use for the treatment of the following injuries, among others.

  • Calf Strains

"Mark has an amazing ability to see what's going on with me physically--and set me on the right track. His unique ART approach is like a custom tune up at each session. I"m stronger and more flexible than before we began training (really, it was almost physical therapy because I was in so much pain at the time). Mark will take you seriously, that's rare and SO important!"
